Participant Waiver & Photo Release

By checking the waiver box when registering an entry, the person registering agrees to the following on behalf of themselves and every participant in their entry.
1. Voluntary participation and assumption of risk
Participation in the A Community Christmas Parade is voluntary. I understand that parade activities — including operating or riding on vehicles, floats, trailers, golf carts and farm equipment, walking the route, handling animals, and being outdoors after dark in winter weather — involve risks of property damage, injury, or death. I knowingly assume all such risks for myself and everyone in my entry.
2. Release and hold harmless
To the fullest extent permitted by law, I release, waive, and agree to hold harmless UC Community Christmas, its organizers, committee members, volunteers and sponsors (including All Brothers Lawn Squad LLC), and the City of Union City, Ohio and the City of Union City, Indiana from any claims, damages, or liability arising from my entry's participation, except those caused by gross negligence or willful misconduct. I agree to be responsible for any damage or injury caused by my entry.
3. Vehicles, drivers and insurance
Every motorized vehicle in my entry will be driven by a properly licensed driver, will carry the insurance required by law, and will be in safe operating condition. Riders will stay seated or secured while moving, and no one will get on or off a moving vehicle.
4. Children and animals
I will ensure that minors in my entry are supervised by a responsible adult at all times, and that any animals are safely controlled and cleaned up after.
5. Parade rules
My entry will be decorated with lights, will not throw candy or other items, and will follow the directions of parade marshals and law enforcement. The committee may refuse, reposition, or remove any entry for safety or content reasons.
6. Photo and video release
I grant UC Community Christmas permission to photograph and record my entry and its participants and to use those images, without payment, on social media (including facebook.com/uccommunitychristmas), in promotional materials, and in the press.
7. Authority to sign
I am at least 18 years old and I accept this waiver on behalf of myself and every participant in my entry, including the parents or guardians of any minors, and I have their permission to do so.
